Privacy policy

Effective and last updated 11 October 2026

This policy explains what personal data Postner collects through our website, app and API, why, who we share it with, and the choices you have. We don’t sell your data and we don’t use advertising or analytics trackers.

Who we are

Postner is operated by August Deep Technologies, 92 Lanre Awolokun Street, Gbagada Estate Phase 2, Lagos, Nigeria (“Postner”, “we”). We are the controller of the personal data described here. For any privacy question or request, email support@trypostner.com.

Information we collect

  • Account details — email, password (stored securely, never in readable form), optional name, and workspace settings such as time zone.
  • Brand and content — brand details, logos, links and text you give us, posts we create, edits, uploads, approvals, feedback and schedules.
  • Connected accounts — details of the Facebook Pages and Instagram business accounts you connect, and permission to publish to them.
  • Forms and messages — details you give us when you join the waitlist, fill in a feedback form or email us.
  • Technical data — IP address, browser and device information, and error and usage logs needed to run the service.

When you give us a link, we read that public page or video to create your posts. An email address and password are required to create an account; everything else is optional, but Postner can’t create posts without brand details and source material.

We don’t send marketing emails to account holders without asking first, and we don’t make decisions about you based solely on automated processing that have legal or similarly significant effects.

AI processing

Postner uses third-party AI services to write and design your posts. We send them only the content needed for the task you ask for, and they process it to return results to us. We don’t use your content to train AI models. You review every post before it is published.

Facebook & Instagram

When you connect Facebook or Instagram, Meta asks you to approve the permissions we need to see which Pages and accounts you manage and to publish posts to them. We use this access only to publish content you approve, when you choose. We don’t read your messages or followers, use Meta data for advertising, or sell it.

You can disconnect at any time in the app or in your Facebook settings under Business integrations. See also Deleting your data.

Sharing

We share personal data only with:

  • service providers that work for us under contract — hosting and storage, AI services, error monitoring, and form tools;
  • Meta, when you tell us to publish a post;
  • authorities or others when the law requires it, or to protect our rights and users' safety;
  • a buyer or successor if Postner is sold or reorganised, who must honour this policy.

Some providers are outside your country, including in the United States. Where data leaves the EEA or UK, we rely on adequacy decisions or Standard Contractual Clauses. A list of our providers is available on request.

Retention

We keep your account data for as long as your account is open, and delete it within 30 days of a deletion request. Temporary and technical data, such as logs and working copies of content you submit, is kept only as long as needed to run and secure the service. Waitlist details are kept until we contact you about launch or you ask us to remove them. We may keep some data longer where the law requires.

Security

We protect your data with encryption in transit, secure password storage and encryption of connected-account credentials. Images Postner stores for your posts sit at unlisted, hard-to-guess links so social networks can fetch them; anyone with a link can view that image. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects you, we will notify you and the authorities where the law requires.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you can ask to access, correct, delete or export your data, object to or restrict how we use it, and withdraw consent. Email support@trypostner.com from your account address. We may need to confirm your identity, and we reply within one month.

You can also complain to a data protection authority: the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC), where we are based, or the authority where you live (in the UK, the ICO).

California & US states

In the last 12 months we collected identifiers (such as email and IP address), commercial and professional information (brand and account details), internet activity (logs), visual information (logos and images) and account login details, from the sources and for the purposes above. We disclose them only to the recipients described in Sharing.

We do not sell or share personal information, including for targeted advertising, and use sensitive information only to provide the service. You have the right to know, access, correct and delete your information without discrimination. Email support@trypostner.com; an authorised agent can act for you. We reply within 45 days, and you can appeal a refusal by replying to our decision.

Cookies

The app uses one strictly necessary cookie to keep you signed in, and stores a few display preferences in your browser. Our website sets no cookies of its own, though the embedded waitlist form may. We don’t use advertising or analytics cookies.

Children

Postner is not for anyone under 16, and we don’t knowingly collect their data. If you think a child has given us data, email support@trypostner.com and we will delete it.

Deleting your data

To delete your data, including data we received from Facebook or Instagram:

  1. Disconnect your Facebook and Instagram accounts in the Postner app.
  2. Email support@trypostner.com from your account address with the subject “Delete my data”.
  3. We delete your data within 30 days and confirm by email.

Posts already published stay on Facebook or Instagram until you remove them there.

Changes

We will update the date above when this policy changes, and email account holders before any material change takes effect.
